Clay Mineralogy (XRD)

X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) is a technique used to define the clay minerology of your soil. The clay component of your soil is the most fundamental part in your soil make up that governs how your soil will act in response to water and nutrients.

The use of XRD indicated on a chart a scatter pattern from which clay varieties can be deciphered. From this you can analyse how your soil can be best managed to ensure maximum efficiency of the nutrients you are supplying to the plants.

XRD testing is not a test you conduct on a seasonal basis, it is a test that once is completed will be relevant for many years as the clay minerology will not fluctuate on a yearly basis.
